3-Week CTE Summer Exploration

CTE Summer Exploration is a fun enrichment opportunity for incoming 9th-12th grade students to experience SVCTE's hands-on learning. It is designed for students and families to learn about the incredible career and technical education opportunities available at SVCTE.
What is the daily schedule?
Monday through Friday, June 8-26:
- Session One: June 8-12
- Session Two: June 15-18 (No class Friday, June 19)
- Session Three: June 22-26
Schedule:
- AM: 8:30-11:25 a.m.
- Passing Period: 11:25-11:30 a.m. (5 minutes)
- Lunch: 11:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (30 minutes, student lunch provided)
- Passing Period: 12:00-12:05 p.m. (5 minutes)
- PM: 12:05-3:00 p.m.
Who can participate in the program?
CTE Summer Exploration is a fun enrichment opportunity for incoming 9th-12th grade students to experience SVCTE's hands-on learning.
How does the program work?
SVCTE will offer a total of three weeks (14 days) to incoming students to explore two different CTE pathways per week.
Each day students will attend a different pathway program; one in the morning AM class and another in the afternoon PM class.
What courses are offered?
Confirmed courses include AI Engineering, Dental Assisting, Film and Video Production, Fire Science/First Responder, Medical Assisting, Medical Science/Health Careers, Pharmacy Technician, and Veterinary Science.
How many credits do students earn?
Students can earn up to five credits on a non A-G pathway (see your counselor).
Is transportation provided?
Free transportation will be provided from high schools within our partner school districts:
- Campbell Union High School District
- East Side Union High School District
- Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District
- Milpitas Unified School District
- San Jose Unified School District
- Santa Clara Unified School District
If you are a student outside of these districts, please go to the nearest high school within the districts above for free transportation.
Is lunch provided?
Free lunch will be provided from MetroED for all students.
Is there a cost to attend?
No. The CTE Summer Exploration program is free to all Santa Clara County students.
