This course is designed to allow students maximum hands-on experience while studying theory of operating principles needed to properly repair and service automotive and heavy-duty truck components. Students will learn everything from using basic hand tools to troubleshooting complex vehicle complaints. They will also gain familiarity with engine rebuilds, preventative maintenance, baking systems, and electrical systems. Our goal is to prepare students for entry level careers within the diesel industry, with light, medium, and heavy-duty combined.

Clean Diesel Technology Teacher

Bio:

 

San Jose native Dennis Willie, relocated back to the Bay Area to teach this Clean Diesel Technology program. After serving in the Army for six years as a Diesel Mechanic, Willie graduated from both Universal Technical Institute and DeVry University with studies in Diesel Technology and Business Management. He holds 5 ASE certifications in preventative maintenance, diesel engines, and electrical systems. Before teaching at SVCTE, Dennis worked at top-tier companies as an Engine Builder, Fleet Service Manager, and trade school instructor. Dennis shares his industry experience to prepare students for industry careers and college opportunities.
